Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective date: 19 May 2026
This policy explains what happens when a lesson is cancelled or missed. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Cancellation window
Each teacher sets a cancellation window (by default 24 hours before the lesson start). The window that applied to your booking is shown when you book and when you cancel.
2. Student cancellations
- Outside the window: the lesson is fully returned — money back to your original payment method, or the pack/subscription credit returned to your balance.
- Inside the window: the lesson is forfeited (the payment or credit is used), because the teacher has reserved that time.
3. Teacher cancellations
If the teacher cancels for any reason, you always receive a full refund or the credit back, regardless of timing. Where possible the teacher will offer an alternative time.
4. No-shows
If the student does not join within a reasonable time, the lesson is treated as taken (inside-window rules apply). If the teacher does not join, it is treated as a teacher cancellation and fully returned.
5. Technical problems
If a lesson cannot proceed due to a platform fault on our side, contact hello@hispanea.app and we will reschedule the lesson or return the payment/credit.
6. Packs and subscriptions
- Returned pack credits are added back to the same pack and remain subject to that pack’s original expiry date.
- Returned subscription credits are restored to the current billing cycle. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund past cycles.
- Unused pack/subscription credits are not redeemable for cash except where required by law.
7. How to cancel
Cancel from the booking in your dashboard, or email hello@hispanea.app. Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe and may take several business days to appear.
8. Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
