1. Data we collect

• Account & profile: name, email, timezone, optional profile picture, and (for students) the learning intake you provide (level, goals, interests, schedule preferences).
• Lessons & learning: bookings, attendance, progress notes, vocabulary, homework and messages with your teacher.
• Payments: processed by Stripe. We receive payment status and the last digits/brand of the card — never full card numbers.
• Technical: basic logs needed to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use it

To provide lessons and the platform, process payments, send booking/lesson emails, personalise teaching to your stated goals, and keep the Service secure. We rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating the Service, and your consent where required.

3. Sharing

Your learning data is shared with your teacher so they can teach you. We use the following processors, who handle data on our instructions:

• Supabase — database, authentication and file storage
• Vercel — application hosting
• Stripe — payment processing
• Daily.co — in-browser lesson video
• Resend — transactional email

We do not sell your personal data. Some processors may transfer data internationally under appropriate safeguards.

4. Retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymise it.

5. Your rights

Depending on your location you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email hello@hispanea.app. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

6. Security

We use reputable infrastructure providers, encrypted transport, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; please use a secure email account, since sign-in is by email link.

7. Children

Accounts for minors must be created and managed by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for consent to this processing.
